Itecna works directly with the Morgan Schaffer laboratory. This ISO/IEC 17025:2005 laboratory specializes exclusively in the analysis of dielectric fluids and now is part of Doble Engineering Company.

Using instruments of the highest analytical quality, it offers a full range of ASTM and IEC tests for insulating oils. Their procedures allow for complete traceability from the moment a sample is created, using the MS Oil LIMS online software, until we produce the final test report.

Morgan Schaffer is America’s pioneer in Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA). Their nearly 50 years of experience in transformer oil analysis guarantees precise and accurate analytical results.

Dissolved Gas Analysis

Key gases detected: H2 (Hydrogen), O2 (Oxygen), N2 (Nitrogen), CH4 (Methane), CO (Carbon Monoxide), CO2 (Carbon Dioxide), C2H4 (Ethylene), C2H6 (Ethane), C2H2(Acetylene).
AGD analysis according to ASTM D3612-A.

Water Content

Water reduces the insulating capacity of the oil and excessive moisture accelerates the breakdown of the insulation paper.
Test for moisture in oil according to ASTM D1533.

Contents of Furfural

When insulation paper deteriorates, furan compounds are produced; measuring the concentration of these compounds can give an indication of the condition of the insulation paper.
Furfural content according to ASTM D5837.
